Biography

Prof. Yang Lu obtained her PhD degree in Economics from Boston University in 2009. Before joining HKUST, she spent a year as a Max Weber Fellow at European University Institute. Her research interests are information friction, macro policy and political economy. Her work has been published in Journal of Economic Theory, Journal of Monetary Economics, Journal of Public Economics, International Economics Review, etc.

Former Student Research Intern Hiu Wang Ng Ng Hiu Wang is an undergraduate student majoring in Global Business. He is currently assisting Professor. Yang Lu to assess the information role of Sovereign debt and study the RMB exchange rate. His work primarily focuses on data analysis and literature review. Before joining CEP as a student research intern, he had worked in finance and alternative investments.
