2021 Asia Impact Evaluation Conference
The Korea Development Institute School of Public Policy and Management (KDI School), the Asian Development Bank (ADB), and the Center for Economic Policy (CEP) at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) are organizing their 2021 conference, “Asia Impact Evaluation Conference” on December 9th and 10th (Hong Kong time, GMT +8). The meeting will be held virtually on Zoom. No registration fee is required.

One Currency, Two Markets: China’s Attempt to Internationalize the Renminbi - A Book Launch
On November 23, the Center for Economic Policy and HKUST Institute for Emerging Market Studies (IEMS) jointly organized a book launch event for the new book “One Currency, Two Markets: China’s Attempt to Internationalize the Renminbi” (Cambridge University Press, September 2021) authored by Professor Edwin Lai, Professor of Department of Economics and Associate Director of Center for Economic Policy at HKUST. The book launch started with brief remarks by the moderator Professor Albert Park, the director of the Center for Economic Policy.

HCEO-CEP-CREC Virtual Summer School on Socioeconomic Inequality 2021
The Center for Economic Policy hosted the Virtual Summer School on Socioeconomic Inequality 2021 for PhD students in economics and other social sciences from August 9 to August 13. The program was co-organized with the Human Capital and Economic Opportunity Global Working Group (HCEO) of the University of Chicago and the China-Russia Eurasian Studies Center (CREC)-a joint center established by HKUST Society Hub, HKUST Business School, New Economic School, and Moscow School of Management SKOLKOVO.

2021 HKUST Workshop on Industrial Organization
The Center for Economic Policy was delighted to host 2021 HKUST Workshop on Industrial Organization. We were lucky that ten distinguished IO scholars from the University of Hong Kong, Chinese University of Hong Kong and HKUST attended and presented their research on Industrial Organization at this year’s workshop.
